Holland is an unincorporated community in Northampton Township, adjacent to Newtown, Richboro, and Holland.  Less than 25 miles from Philadelphia and Trenton, Holland is within an easy commute of a myriad of employment opportunities.  But spend one day in Holland a you will notice this is a major departure from big city life – that this is a quaint, safe and friendly town that offers a more relaxed pace of life than major metropolitan centers.  Holland experienced a building boom in the 1970’s that resulted in the development of several large housing developments.  In the subsequent 40 years, Holland has morphed into the ideal commuter bedroom community for suburban families.  While financial constraints compelled the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) to close the Fox Chase Rapid Transit Line in 1983 (which served Holland), there has been broad interest among residents, as well as bipartisan political support, for resuming passenger service to Holland.

Holland is located in the Council Rock School District, which has a long and proud history of educational excellence and forward thinking.  For example, career awareness is actively first promoted at the elementary level, heightened at the middle school level, and culminating in high school, where students who have so selected are given targeted preparation for chosen career paths.  Council Rock has a long-standing, comprehensive pupil evaluation program and supportive services to help teachers assess individual student capabilities and identify remedial needs.  The district has a terrific special education program that provides a variety of services to meet the needs of exceptional children:  students with learning disabilities, social and emotional disabilities, physical handicaps, mental retardation, gifted and talented students, etc.  Council Rock also proudly has one of the most comprehensive and successful athletic and co-curricular programs in the state, combining excellent facilities, quality equipment and outstanding coaching to provide students with unique recreational opportunities outside of the classroom.
